A great program finished with a great day. Mentors Matter wrapped up today and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. The kids and mentors seemed to have an excellent time and they seemed to enjoy each other's company. The mentors were a big help and did a great job with the kids. The day started out with an icebreaker activity that got the mentors and kids to interact and meet each other. The activity was administered by Frank Crockett and Frank did a wonderful job throughout the entire Mentors Matter program. After the icebreakers, the kids hit the links for some real golf. They all seemed to be having fun and they were all giving it a good shot. Some got the hang of it better than others but they all did a great job. After lunch, we had a guest speaker, Mark Baker, who talked about how important people are in your life and how everyone should be accepting of any kind of help. The message was important and I think the kids really paid close attention. (Might have been because he played in the NBA but that is ok.) After the speaker, some very deserving awards were handed out. Everyone who helped with the program was greatly appreciated and it could not have been a success without everyone's help. Thanks again and good luck with everything in the following year!
