Today was a beautiful day for golf for the kids and mentors. After a quick lesson from Ted, the kids headed over to the range to try their luck with woods for the first time this year. Despite a few sky marks on the heads, most of the kids seemed to show some potential by the end of the session. Overall, the kids really seemed to enjoy hitting the ball further than usual.
After lunch, Pastor Frank Crockett presented to the kids. His main point was centered on boundaries. Frank had the kids do a drill with blocks. Each group member had to say something that was important to working in a group and the block represented that idea. Many of the kids chose leadership, cooperation, understanding, and patience. Then, they were asked to walk around in their huddle on top of the blocks without touching the ground, which represented attitude. Despite the difficulty, the kids were able to work together and accomplish the task! Frank did a great job making a difficult concept simple and fun for the kids to grasp. |
