| Five off to the US Open |
 - Congratulations to Sam Stevens, Taylor Pendrith, Nick Hardy, Alex Schaake, and Dylan Wu for successfully qualifying for the upcoming US Open at LA Country Club. The final positions were determined through a playoff among Dylan Wu, Alex Schaake, and Maxwell Moldovan, who competed for the last two spots starting from the 10th hole. Dylan Wu secured the first position with a birdie on Hole #10, while Alex Schaake claimed the second spot by birdieing the 17th hole just after 9 pm, as the sun was setting.

From a statistical perspective, it's worth noting that the hardest hole was Hole Number 7, a 357-yard uphill par four, which averaged almost half a shot over par. However, the shorter par fives typically proved to be easier, as the downhill Hole #2 played at just 0.36 over birdie, with an average score of 4.36. Over the course of both rounds, the scoring average was 71.25, which was only 1.25 strokes above the Par 70 adjusted layout. Usually, the course plays at par 72 for member play. The morning round had a slightly easier average score of 71.15, while the afternoon round averaged 71.43. The discrepancy in the average score for the afternoon round can be attributed to nine fewer scores returned due to withdrawals.

During this year's US Open Final at Springfield CC, we witnessed an impressive display of seven eagles on holes that are not traditionally par 5s. These eagles were achieved on Holes #1, #3 (with a hole-in-one), #5 (usually a par 5, making it a double-eagle), #14, and three on #15.
We extend our gratitude to the Members and Staff at Springfield CC for hosting the event and to all the wonderful volunteers who assisted with scoring, fore caddying, and other crucial tasks.
